Magnolia Car Wash has been at 8931 Magnolia Ave since 1998. In that time most of the car washes around us moved to conveyors and spinning brushes. We didn't, and it wasn't nostalgia — it's that a tunnel touches every car with the same equipment, and whatever came off the truck ahead of you is what gets dragged across your hood next.

So every vehicle here is washed 100% by hand. Soft mitts, clean water, and people who can see what they're working on: the badge, the mirror housing, the wheel face, the door jamb you touch every single day. It's slower. It's also why cars come out of here without swirl marks.

25+ years in one place means a lot of vehicles. Work trucks and dually pickups. Lifted 4x4s off the trails. Family SUVs after a week of school runs. Wrapped cars, soft-paint EVs, and the occasional show car whose owner is watching every panel. They all get the same method — the only thing that changes is how long it takes.

Alongside the wash packages we run a full detailing side: complete detail service, interior and exterior details, Dupont Teflon and Carnauba paste wax, silicon and ceramic hand wax, and express mini details for when a car doesn't need the whole production.

The lounge is not an afterthought

A hand wash takes longer than a tunnel, and standing in a Santee parking lot in August is nobody's idea of a good time. There's an air-conditioned indoor lounge with real seating, a cooler of cold drinks, snacks and candy, and Häagen-Dazs ice cream. We come and get you when the car is ready.

• You pay at the shop. Booking online holds your time — it doesn't take a deposit or a card number.
• Prices are confirmed before the work starts. Vehicle size moves the price and EVs cost a little more; you hear the number up front, not at the register.
• The punch card is real. Eight washes, one free. Ask at the counter.
